Import duties & local tax

Because TAMU is based in Indonesia, all international shipments arrive as imports. Import duties and local VAT are the responsibility of the buyer and are paid to your country's customs authority on arrival — not to TAMU.

We always declare the full and accurate purchase value on all shipping documentation. We recommend checking your country's import duty rates before ordering. If you have questions, we're happy to help — info@tamuhome.com

Made to Order

Every TAMU piece is made to order in our workshop in Java, Indonesia. Nothing is held in stock. Production begins after your order is confirmed and your deposit is received.

Lead times from order to delivery:

  • Australia and Singapore: 6–10 weeks

  • UK and Europe: 10–14 weeks

  • USA and Canada: 14–18 weeks

  • Middle East: 10–14 weeks

These are estimated lead times and include production, quality check, export, sea freight, import clearance, and last-mile delivery. We will keep you updated at every stage.

Materials Every material we use is natural, renewable, or geological. Teak. Rattan. Stone. Brass. Cotton. Nothing synthetic. Nothing that cannot biodegrade or be reclaimed.

Packaging Zero plastic across every shipment. Pieces are packed in timber crating, natural fibre furniture blankets, and recycled paper. All packaging materials are reusable or biodegradable.

Production We make to order. Nothing is produced speculatively. No warehouses full of unsold furniture. No end-of-season clearance. Every piece that exists was made for someone.

Longevity The most sustainable piece of furniture is one that lasts decades. Teak hardens with age. Brass develops a patina that cannot be replicated. Stone is permanent. We build things that do not need to be replaced.
